Wayne State University Press prefers to consider forthcoming books for distribution. In certain circumstances we will consider a book that has already been published. Books must fit the Press's publishing program (please visit "About Us" on our website).
We must review sample material — an introduction and at least one sample chapter — along with a letter indicating why the title is appropriate for our list as well as general market/audience information.
For a book that has already been published please send a copy of the book along with any published reviews and detailed information on sales history (number of books published, number of book sold) as well as general market/audience information and the cover letter indicating why the title is appropriate for our list.
We review materials and consider scope and purpose, contribution, scholarship, organization and writing style, and readership. We will contact you regarding a distribution agreement if we believe the materials are suitable for distribution through the Press.
Submissions of projects for potential distribution can be received throughout the year. Since we announce distributed titles along with our frontlist titles in seasonal catalogs we have firm cut-off dates for the submission of final materials (see below).
